Rosyth is located on the Firth of Forth on Scotland’s East Coast and was founded in 1915 as a Garden City. It is 12 miles north-west of Edinburgh and the Port has the only direct Ferry Service to the European mainland from Scotland run by Norfolkline. It is probably best known for its large dockyard, formerly the Royal Naval Dockyard. This area is earmarked for major investment over the coming years with Babcock and the Aircraft Carrier Alliance being contracted to build Britain’s biggest ever warships at a cost of over £4bn.

The Aircraft Carrier Alliance is a consortium consisting of BVT Surface Fleet (a Joint Venture between BAE and VT Group) together with Babcock, Thales and the MoD.
